Below you will find our 2021-2022 monthly schedule which includes important class days, special events, deadlines and DDS holidays. Dates not shown below are your regular scheduled classes.
You will also find information on our policies including proper attire, tuition, studio guidelines and recital information.
Tuition is due at the first class of each month.

*"Bring A Friend" Week. This is intended for the students to bring a friend their age. It is not intended for aunts, uncles or parents. They will be partner dancing and need someone around the same age/size as they are.
** "Parent Watch" weeks are intended for student's parents/guardians. Through our experience, our students learn more when they are focused on the teaching and not who is watching. Therefore, we offer only 2 "Parent Watch" weeks where you'll be inside the studio watching their entire class. Space is limited and we would like to ensure that all parents/guardians are able to watch their children before friends of the family. Please NOTE: There are only 2 watch weeks during the season, plus a Holiday Show in December. Watch weeks are in October and March. No parent watch weeks for Competition Lines.
****Pictures... Your dancer's class will have both individual and group photos taken during their regular scheduled class during the week of April 8-11, 2019.
Desiree’s Dance Studio dance season consists of monthly lessons throughout the nine-month school year. Monthly tuition fees are due the 1st class of each month. Payments made after the 2nd class of the month will be charged an additional $15 late fee. Please put your payments in the payment box or pay online via PayPal. To ensure the payment is crediting the correct student, please put the student’s first and last name in the memo area on your check. If you’re paying for more than one item, please indicate the items in the memo area. Tuition is the same each month regardless of how many classes there are. Students are charged for all lessons, even ones they’ve missed. Once you have begun the month you are charged for the entire month, no refunds. Please notify us if you are discontinuing in order not to be charged further. Registration fees are also non-refundable.
Please note that returned checks (NSF) will be assessed a $20.00 fee by Desiree’s Dance Studio. The fee and the monies will be due by the student’s next class to avoid further charges.
To make dance classes more affordable for families, we offer family discounts for more than one student in a household taking lessons. See prices and discounts below:
The highlight of the dance year is our exciting performance held at t Tentatively, there will be 3 shows held at Noon, 3:30pm and 6:00pm. Class participation will vary for the 3 shows. The rehearsal will be held on ... beginning at 5:00pm for SPARKLE Classes and 7:00pm for SHINE classes.
Tickets are non-refundable and non-exchangeable and will be for sale in March, turned in April, and will be handed out during class the week of May 13-17, 2019.
Only class moms will be allowed backstage and in dressing rooms. Video cameras and digital video cameras are prohibited.
Costumes are an important part of our recital performance, and dancers of all ages look forward to receiving them. Costume costs vary according to the age of the student and the number of dances the student performs. In all cases, we’re making every effort to keep costume costs down. Please note, costumes may not be picked up until your account is paid in full. Please keep in mind that in some cases costumes may need slight altering. Altering would be the dancer’s responsibility.
A full costume payment is due the first lesson in November, as costume ordering begins early. Costume payments are NON-REFUNDABLE.
If possible, please make a separate check for costumes.
DDS Commitment to Dancers
We take extra measures and higher dance education classes throughout the year to ensure your child is receiving the highest quality dance instruction available. This is one of the reasons we do not allow students to take from other studios during the dance season (September through May). If this policy is broken you will be asked to not return during that year and no refunds will be given.
For children with longer hair, please pull hair up into a ponytail. Tighter clothes are necessary to ensure your child is learning properly. A leotard or tank top is preferred with tights, leggings, dance pants, capris, skorts or shorts.
Dance shoes are required for safety and technique. Absolutely NO JEANS OR JEAN SHORTS.
Please have your child go to the bathroom before class.
We do have bathrooms, however, potty breaks do go into class time and seem to be contagious.
Class Viewing/Parent Watch Weeks
Parents are welcome to watch the last class of October and March, excluding all other months. Children/siblings that are being distractive will be asked to wait in the lobby area with their parents. Watch weeks are intended for student’s parents/guardians. Space is limited and we would like to ensure that all parents/guardians are able to watch their dancer’s progress.
Make-up classes can be made before routines have begun. After routines have begun, it is the customer’s choice to
Make up the class, as not all classes will be performing the same routine.
Emergency closings and uncontrollable circumstance cancellations will be recorded in a message on the studio’s voicemail explaining the closings and a mass email will be sent out. Classes that are cancelled will be rescheduled and you will be notified in writing if there is a make-up date. The studio voicemail is 651-210-4220 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Also, cancellations due to weather will be televised on WCCO.
· ALL classes will enter through the Purple Studio and exit through the Pink Studio to keep traffic to a minimum.
· Please do not arrive more than 5-10 minutes before the class start time. Students lose interest the longer they have to wait!
· Doors will open no more than 5 minutes before the class start time due to preparation. Special arrangements can be made by contacting the studio. Please do not open the door during a class unless there is an emergency as we are trying to keep distractions to a minimum.
· NO STREET SHOES are allowed in the studios. SAFETY FIRST! This includes PARENT WATCH WEEKS!
· Please use the coat hooks, cubby holes and area mats for wet shoes.
· Dance bags should stay in the studio on the coat hooks as they’ll be switching studios during class.
· Please do not leave children unattended in cars or the studio. Siblings and others must be watched at all times.
· To keep distractions to a minimum, please refrain from talking to the students during class.
· Safety first! Absolutely no running or horseplay anywhere in the building.
· No food or gum in the studios.
· No one is allowed in the studio without a teacher present for everyone’s safety.
· Please call when absent or for make-up classes.
· Arrive on time and prepared for class.
Short Holiday Program
Desiree’s Dance Studio rents the North Branch High School Auditorium for the Holiday Program. This is a Program and NOT a recital. It gives the students a chance to be on stage half way through the dance season. Each class will perform a short routine. Black attire will be necessary. Each student will be allowed 2 tickets free of charge per class/per child.
If extra tickets are available, they will be drawn on a lottery basis at $7.00 each.
Required Dance Shoes
Each dancer will need specific dance shoes for class. Shoes can be purchased through Desiree’s Dance Studio.
A dance bag is suggested to keep dance shoes in. Please see below for the appropriate shoes:
